I was thinking about getting in on the a(u)ction too, but need to try and rearrange my schedule to drive out there. Tues AM only is a problem, and the fellow listed seems to be unreachable so far. However, it's only a 2-2.5 hour drive, so it could be worse....

    Re: auction alert North Carolina

What's everyone here interested in? The HF drivers? LF drivers? The cabinets? VIT horns? Everything?

I ask because, while I'd love to be the winning bidder, I am not financially able to buy something that far away...... can't pay to have it shipped, and can't take the time or afford gas to drive myself. It occurred to me that the entire model mix may not appeal to a single person. My biggest desire would be the 816VI cabinets, followed by the LF driver inside, HF drivers, crossovers, and VIT horns. I'd be more than happy with just the cabinets.

Anybody ever use the VIT's in the home? I've never seen one in person, but given the dimensions they must make my MR-94B's look small. I'm thinking a pretty big home with a cathedral ceiling would be in order to use them effectively :-)

Well, I should be subscribed to the auction site by the end of the day, and I have lined up a transporter to get the goods back to Raleigh should I win the auction. Now the only issue is where to put stuff should I win it...

As far as the gear, I suppose the horns intrigue me the most, but I know squat about the 816's at this point, but am willing to take a flyer on any old Altec gear if the price is right.

You can call them and get registered right away. I waited for the call, but it took a couple of days.

That would be cool! I wonder what the drivers are on the horns?

Have an e-mail in to the listing agent. Let's see if there is any more info to be had....

The catalog page that I posted earlier in the thread suggested 515-G's.
